PIERO DORAZIO La Nuova Pittura

The exhibition “Piero Dorazio. The New Painting. Opere 1963 – 1968” takes place at the Galleria d’Arte Moderna and at the Galleria dello Scudo.
The exhibition includes more than thirty paintings from public and private collections, which trace an unprecedented profile of the Italian painter’s artistic production between 1963 and 1968. From the reticular structures of the works of the late 1950s, we move on to the outbursts of a painting understood as a field of tensions and inventions, without ever disregarding a continuous reference to the historical avant-gardes. Particular attention is paid to the artist’s participation in the 1966 Venice Biennial, an occasion in which a personal room is dedicated to Piero Dorazio in which twenty-one of the most significant works of the period – many of which are on show in Verona – are exhibited.
