This year the Giro d’Italia, the exciting men’s stage cycling race along the roads of Italy, will make its final stop in Verona with an individual time trial.
One of the three most important stage races on the world cycling calendar, together with the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España, this year’s “Corsa Rosa” will cover a total of 3,410 kilometres with almost 51,000 metres of elevation gain. The one from Hungary on Friday, May 6, will be the 14th Grand Depart from abroad, while Verona will host the closing of the Giro for the fifth time.

The 105th edition of the Giro d’Italia will end in the Arena of Verona on Sunday 29 May with an individual time trial of 17.1 km that includes the legendary climb of the Torricelle, already the scene of the 1999 and 2004 World Road Championships.
The first part of the route is fast and smooth and includes long straights and city boulevards. Then comes the climb: 3.5km with gradients of around 5% and a reduced road surface. After the intermediate set at the GPM here is 4 km of fast descent with some technical passages. The last 3 km along the city streets to the entrance of Corso Porta Nuova that leads to Piazza Bra and the entrance to the Arena.
