Once again this year, the Arena di Verona stages Giuseppe Verdi’s spectacular “Nabucco“, an unmissable opera drama. Together with Georges Bizet’s “Carmen“, Giuseppe Verdi’s “Aida” and “La Traviata” and Giacomo Puccini’s “Turandot“, it constitutes one of the great operas scheduled for the 2022 Arena season.
Eight evenings will represent Arnaud Bernard’s recent edition of a “Nabucco” with a broad historical, Risorgimento and cinematographic scope, conducted by Daniel Oren (25 June; 1, 7, 10, 23, 29 July; 3 September) and Alvise Casellati (18 August).
In the monumental Roman amphitheatre of the Arena, perfect for the scenery of ancient Babylon, the notes of the famous song “Va, pensiero, sull’ali dorate” will resound.
Reruns of Verdi’s “Nabucco” in the Arena are scheduled for 1, 7, 10, 23 and 29 July, 18 August and 3 September.
