STAGED by Anton Corbijn

The photographic exhibition dedicated to the Dutch photographer and director Anton Corbijn, STAGED, inaugurates the new spaces of E.ART.H. in Verona, together with ‘VOLI-NI‘, the personal exhibition of the Ghanaian visual artist Ibrahim Mahama.
The exhibition, curated by Walter Guadagnini, a member of the E.ART.H. Curatorial Committee and director of Camera-Centro Italiano per la Fotografia, unfolds as a journey through the Dutch photographer’s career through a corpus of around eighty works. Included are some of the most iconic shots he has taken from his early days to the present day and which have now become part of the collective imagination, juxtaposed with others that are less well-known.
Corbijn’s shots, with his almost cinematic approach to photography, evoke stories and contain a series of elements that place the image in a narrative continuum, as if it were a video frame.
