Malcesine is a small town along the coast of Lake Garda with the views of the mountains in the background. This area offers a variety of activities including biking and sailing, restaurants fill the town, and visitors can visit a castle and museums.

The Scaliger Castle of Malcesine is considered the symbol of the area. Guests are allowed to go inside the castle which houses the Monte Baldo and Garda National History Museum, the “Gallery Room” and former powder room. Along with that, visitors can visit the Captain’s Palace. This multi-floor palace allows visitors to view the former residence of the Captain of the Lake. Decorations are still hung up and the writings on the walls have been preserved for the public to view the history and living space of the Captain. A garden is also present on the property near the lake, where the Captain used to dock his boat. Restorations took place in recent years that helped to preserve the ancient history and murals, and the Public Town Library is within the palace.

Another activity visitors can participate in while visiting Malcesine includes the Malcesine Cable Car. Enjoy the views of Monte Baldo and Lake Garda from above by taking the rotating cable car to the top in only a few minutes. In the winter, there are two lifts, the cable car and chairlift, that transport visitors up the mountain to enjoy skiing, snowboarding and more. In the summer, guests can take the cable car to the top to enjoy the many hiking trails, mountain biking and paragliding.
A restaurant is also open at the top of the lift.
