Soave is a village at the base of the Lessini Mountains that resembles a small medieval town due to the castle and architecture of the buildings. Soave was named the “Most Beautiful Village in Italy in 2022”, a contest launched by Italy’s national television group, in a programme dedicated to travel and tourism. The area offers visitors a variety of monuments worth visiting and vineyards that produce Soave white wine, which is known around the world.

Soave CastleThe Castle of Soave sits on top of Mount Tenda and is considered a military artifact and one of the main monuments in Soave. The castle is currently privately owned which allows it to stay preserved. Visitors can still get a full tour of the castle and view the panoramic views of the vineyards surrounding the castle. Other monuments within the city include Piazza dell’Antenna which is fixed at the center of Soave, Porta Vicentina, Porta Aquila, Palazzo Scaligero Del Capitano and Porta San Giorgio.

Along with the monuments, Soave is known for the wine that they produce. The land of Soave used to be filled with volcanic rock which left behind fertile dirt that became perfect for the vineyards to grow and produce grapes. They currently have vineyards all over Soave which gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy beautiful views while drinking local wine.
