Amleto” is a four-act lyric tragedy by the Veronese composer and conductor Francesco Faccio, to a libretto by Arrigo Boito. Production highly anticipated in 2020 and cancelled due to the pandemic, the opera is taken from the most famous Shakespearean title and boasted a great clamor at the time of its debut but was not resumed in Italy. The four replicas constitute the first Italian performance of the opera in the contemporary era in the new set-up of Fondazione Arena with the direction of Paolo Valerio, Verona talent, former director of the Teatro Stabile, with scenes and projection design created by Ezio Antonelli. The 27 year old Alessandro Bonato, also from Verona, will take the podium as Principal Conductor of the Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, the youngest of all the Italian Orchestral Concert Institutions.
This is the fouth title scheduled for the 2023 Opera Season at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona.
