Castel San Pietro is a military building located on the San Pietro hill in Verona. The area where the castle would have been built was a strategic place for the control of the Adige river and of the whole territory where also ancient traces of a pre-Roman settlement have been found.
To admire the city from another point of view, you can take a nice walk to the castle or climb up using the funicular. This landmark is very popular with tourists because from the panoramic terrace, which overlooks the Roman Theatre and Ponte Pietra, there is a magnificent view of the city and the Adige river.
