The Archaeological Museum at the Roman Theatre is located in one of the most scenic areas of Verona, as well as being interesting from an archaeological point of view.  During renovation work in the 19th and early 20th centuries, parts of the theatre were discovered: in particular, the cavity, dug into the hillside by the Romans to prevent water infiltration into the building, was discovered.
The Archaeological Museum exhibits sculptural and decorative elements from the theatre and material mainly from the Roman period found in Verona and the surrounding area, as well as objects of even more distant origins from collections built up mainly from the 18th century onwards: pieces of mosaics, tombstones, stelae and altars, various epigraphs and statues.
