This year, the Arena di Verona Opera Festival celebrates its 100th edition. Between June and September, the world’s largest opera stage offers 49 unique performances, each with a cast of the highest caliber. On the program are 2 new productions, 6 historical stagings, 4 gala evenings and 1 extraordinary symphony concert.
The unprecedented program boasts the 8 most beloved opera titles, with two new productions: the inaugural “Aida” in mondovisione Rai, with star Anna Netrebko joined by tenor Yusif Eyvazov as Radamès, and “Rigoletto,” which marks Antonio Albanese’s Arena debut as director.
Also planned are 4 gala evenings with Roberto Bolle & Friends, Plácido Domingo, Juan Diego Flórez and Jonas Kaufmann, and an extraordinary symphony concert featuring the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra and Chorus conducted by Riccardo Chailly.
This edition hosts a remarkable number of international voices such as Yusif Eyvazov, Anita Rachvelishvili, Ludovic Tézier, Francesco Meli, Vittorio Grigolo, Lisette Oropesa, Aleksandra Kurzak, Luca Salsi, Roberto Alagna, Nadine Sierra, Piotr Beczała, Sonya Yoncheva, and Asmik Grigorian.
